I'm trying to make a dnd campaign set europe during this period and it would be really helpful to learn how people acted, what they thought, how they dressed, that sort of thing. Less interested in the big events than in the day to day life.
Ian Mortimer's The Time Traveller's Guide To Medieval England is what you're looking for. It's specifically focused on the 14th century and examines every aspect of daily life. It's not a scholarly work, not sure I'd use it as a reference here, but I know u/sunagainstgold has recommended it a few times.
Montaillou by Emmanuel Le Roy Ladurie is about a Pyrenees village from 1294 1324 and reconstructs their daily lives as they are subject to the inquisition.
The Cheese and the Worms: the Cosmos of a Sixteenth-century Miller by Carlo Ginsberg. Obviously a bit after than you asked, but a classic of its genre.
