Was the NSDAP socialists?

by TipPotato

So obviously the word socialist is in the name, but did they actually use socialist ideas to a large extent? I've heard many people have different meaning on this subject. Some say they do, and some say they dont. But from what i gathered they only used a very small quantity of socialist ideas, and that they implemented the word socialism in their name to attract more followers as socialism was rapidly growing after the Russian Revolution.

But if they were to practice socialist ideas to a greater extent, why does that brand national socialism as right wing, when it takes political ideas from both the left and right side of the political spectrum?
