I have listened to the audiobook "Empress Dowager Cixi: The Concubine Who Launched Modern China" by Jung Chang and really liked it.

While not strictly an audiobook, last week I finished "From Yao to Mao 5000 years of Chinese History" course from The Great Courses, and it was very good. There are other Great Courses lecture series about Chinese history as well, though I've not personally listened to them yet.

If you're not familiar with The Great Courses, You can find them on Audible, but libraries sometimes carry them as well, and they can be purchased off The Great Courses website. Good luck! :)
