Today:
Welcome to this week's instalment of /r/AskHistorians' Sunday Digest (formerly the Day of Reflection). Nobody can read all the questions and answers that are posted here, so in this thread we invite you to share anything you'd like to highlight from the last week - an interesting discussion, an informative answer, an insightful question that was overlooked, or anything else.
I got the opportunity to go on at length about some of the intricacies Zoroastrian beliefs the other day, perhaps that might interest somebody since it's a bit outside the range of questions normally asked about the religion: To what degree did Zoroastrianism preserve Iranian/Persian polytheism? What do we know about Iranian polytheism that otherwise wasn't continued into Zoroastrianism? And how widespread was the pre-Zoroastrian belief system? by /u/lcnielsen
I finally answered this question, because while I could say 'listen to 121 minutes worth of podcasts' there are enough people on the internet who do that.
/u/samsu-ditana on "As a non-slave in an ancient slave-holding society, would I be in danger of being abducted off the street and sold as a slave?"
