My grandfather fought in the Malayan Emergency. He’s been deceased for a long time, though I have his photos scanned in digital fork and I find them too valuable not to share with the world. Any help would be appreciated.
A few options:
1: The Internet Archive (archive.org) preserves a wide variety of texts and images. I've found it a useful tool for accessing a wide variety of primary sources. Its curators might be interested in storing your images and making them public.
2: The United Kingdom has a particularly large, well-managed, and well-maintained national archive which might have a special interest in images from the Emergency. You can contact their archivists here: https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/contact-us/
Another poster suggested the British Archives, but since these are digital copies, could I suggest you also offer them to Singapore's National Archives. They might also be able to suggest an appropriate Malaysian organisation to approach. I think it would be a nice gesture to offer copies to the other countries involved in the Malayan Emergency so that researchers in these places will have access to these resources.
