Books about the Borgias and the Medicis

by TakeshiBartowski

Hi everyone,

I'm not sure I'm in the right place here but I wanted to create a post to know if you have some indications about books dealing with Borgia's and Medicis' families.

I'm interested by these families and the Renaissance and I would like to visit Italy with a kind of background about them.

Thank you for tips and sorry for my english!

So it’s not exactly what you might be looking for, but I’m gonna recommend it anyway. Irving Stone’s The Agony and the Ecstasy. It’s Michelangelo’s biography. Borgias are not really that present (they get mentioned of course), but considering the fact that Michelangelo was Lorenzo de Medici’s protégé (and live some of his early life in the Medici castle), the Medicis appear a lot in the book and you can kinda get a glimpse of life in the early 16 century Florence.

Also, it’s a magnificent book. It’a long, but easy to read!

I thought about :

The Borgias by Christopher Hibbert

The Borgias: The Hidden History by G. J. Meyer

If you have some indications about these authors.. Thank you very much :)
