In every single piece of media i see in which they depict Romans against Barbarians they always show the Barbarians to be uncivillised, wearing little to no armour and or wearing animal pelts. I always imagined them to live in tribes with straw houses and stuff. But then i read up on how hundreds of thousands of Barbarians would unite and fight against the Barbarians. To me it doesn't make sense for numerous tribes to be so violent and uncivillised so i want to ask what were the Barbarians like? What armour did they wear? What level of cities or towns they built? What was there culture like?
