You may find this useful, we don't have a clear idea how rome actually came to be since their early records were destroyed when the city was sacked by gallic tribes. We do, however, know their own foundation myth (they believed that they descended from trojan refugees, not really a colony) though as the threads points out, its very likely not to be true
