I’m not sure what you mean by full. Are you asking if there are too many Viking historians or if there’s not enough research to be done on Vikings because someone else has already done it? You can research whatever kind of history you want. There’s all kinds of different ways you can study history that could make your take on Viking history innovative. For example instead of looking at the traditional history of Vikings you could research gender roles in Viking society or Viking economics. Environmental history is becoming a big thing, and the environment definitely affected when and where the Vikings travelled and what they explored. Sure, the traditional history of Vikings has been well researched, but people still become classical historians, which is easily one of the most researched field in history. I studied intellectual history in grad school which is actually the history of historians and the changing academic debates, so there’s all kinds of routes you can go with. Study what you find interesting and make it yours!
Thank you very much. Many people say that viking history is full of people who want to do it s its hard to actually be a part of it?
