Can you give us a little more to go on, such as a location? In the early 1900s, Lake Tahoe was surrounded by 4 or 5 short logging railroads that brought logs down to the lake. Steamers then towed rafts of logs across to Tahoe City, where a sawmill operated. Finished lumber then was taken by a narrow gauge shortline railroad (later part of SP) that followed the Truckee River downstream to the Southern Pacific R.R. at Truckee, Calif.
