Hi OP, the question is permitted here, but you'd probably have better success over in /r/WhatIsThisThing: identifying obscure objects is their jam. Also, it would help anyone answering here if you could specify where it's currently located,and perhaps the type of school, e.g. a high school, a university's archaeology dept, etc. Thanks.
