After the American Civil War, was there any talk of redrawing the borders of the Southern states?

Maybe not an exact answer to your question, but its worth mentioning that the state of West Virginia was created from Virginia and admitted into the Union as a direct result of Virginia's joining the Confederacy. There were some lingering issues related to borders between the two states once the Confederate controlled portions of Virginia were readmitted into the union, the most substantial of which were decided by the Supreme Court in Virginia v. West Virginia.
