I get that pederasty was common in Ancient Rome, but I’m reading the Wikipedia page about Hadrian’s “lover,” Antinous, and almost every claim abiut that relationship being sexual is sourced to a 1984 book by Lambert.
Did Lambert discover this? Is his book reputable? Does anyone know the evidence he used to establish that the relationship was sexual? I don’t have access to a library that has that book in its holdings. Thanks.
