Hi guys, I've been trying to remember but I can't. There was a time in the 90's I think, somewhere in eastern Europe, either Bosnia or Yugoslavia where the UN had a camp set up for civilians fleeing conflict. However, they were forced to release the men to be killed or else 'they' would have killed the whole camp. I can't remember what genocide this was and was having trouble finding a description about it. Did I just get my information wrong on this?
Assuming you're talking about the massacre of Srebrenica, there's an excellent multi-part post by /u/elm11 on the topic of the massacre and why it occured here - hope that helps!
Are you talking about Srebrenica?
