Were there significant known deposits of uranium in German territory during World War 2?

If there were no known significant deposits then it would make complete sense that Germany didn't put many resources into developing nuclear weapons.

Not within their state, no, but they had access to ore in Czechoslovakia, which was one of the richer sources of uranium ore known at the time. They also took over Belgium, which had access to ores from the Belgium Congo, although many of the already-mined ores had been relocated to the United States.

Acquisition of ore would have been one of the many obstacles to overcome, but to my knowledge it was not one of the specific reasons given they decided to pursue reactors rather than bombs.
