Are there any frontiers in history similar to the American Wild West with outlaws and gangs? Where places like Russia’s siberian frontier like this?
The Yukon Gold Rush In Canada has quite a few "wild west" stories around it. Sam Steel and his outfit.
Also the Fraser Canyon War in British Columbia is well worth looking into. Pretty gritty stuff.
However, the Louis Real rebellion is Canada's best claim to fame as far as "wild west" history goes. The events would make a great HBO series.
