I’ve been assigned a project regarding the coercive acts and I’ve been assigned the part of gathering quotes from the British as to why they felt the need to pass the acts. I’ve been unable to find any and thought this would be a good place to start. Again, just need a few quotes explaining the British side of things here. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
A good place to start your research into British Parliamentary debates is the UK's National Archives; here's their page on Parliamentary records. Much of the record of debates (called 'Hansard') is available publicly from 1800 on, but Eighteenth-century records are a little harder to find. If your school/institution has subscriptions to various academic collections, your search will be a lot easier. You might also check if local libraries have subscriptions you can use.
