I saw a video of a historian from a prestigious English university give a lecture on how the Renaissance grew organically from the intellectual accomplishments of the Middle Ages, rather than being the sudden change it's often made out to be. But for the life of me, I can't find the video anymore.

Unfortunately, the title contains all the info I have. It was a lecture on how the Renaissance built much more on the work done during the Middle Ages than is generally acknowledged. It was furthermore shown that Renaissance authors were often misrepresenting their sources, citing ancient authors instead of the actual, medieval, sources.

I hope to find back the video I saw originally, but other sources on this topic are very welcome too.

Was it a video lecture or a documentary?
