It seems a lot were made, but did they really make a difference in the battles? Wikipedia lists their top speed as 3.7mph, which seems rather slow. Were they effective even with this speed?
Related question- was the appearance of a tank "scary" to the opposing force? Considering they probably have never seen anything like it before?
