In a word, yes.
There's a fair bit of second-opinion bias related to the US in WWII, where people, say, look at casualty counts or look at the Soviet invasion of Germany and decide that the US was a sideshow (at least in Europe -- I'm not sure why people forget that the Pacific Theater was one where the US did most of the heavy lifting, though with undoubted contributions from allies in Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain more generally).
