Audio AMA: Dig History Podcast

by AnnalsPornographie

Hello everyone!

I will be interviewing the amazing panel of the Dig History Podcast (https://digpodcast.org) soon, and we wanted to try out an AMA format where you could ask questions here and they could answer them on the podcast!

So please post questions here for them!

In a recent interview with the Chronicle of Higher Ed interview, Jill Lepore made some provocative and critical comments about the retreat of academics (especially humanists) from public discussion.

As historians and podcast hosts, how do the panelists see their role in bringing history into public life?

Have they found it difficult to persuade other academics to take podcasting seriously, and to participate?

What do they think of Dr Lepore's critique?

What are some parallels you see with the sufragette movement of the 1910s and the MeToo movement of the 2010s?

My framing is clunky so feel free to reword so it works but basically, why is it so important and necessary that you're women historians? I'm hoping you could go into why your gender matters?
