I remember that there are depiction of horses in various candi. But were they used as cavalry force? or just for domestic purpose? I just can’t imagine thousand of horses marching through the jungles of Java. Thanks in advance.
Piggybacking on to this question: did the use of mounted elephants in pre-colonial Southeast Asian warfare make equine cavalry unnecessary in those societies at wartime?
