Are these TV shows at least somewhat true to how battles of that age (age of Vikings) looked like? Two armies charging into each other in a long line, basically heads on and complete chaos afterwards? Were Vikings such great figthers that they could win a fight that's 3:1? Or are these shows unreal bogus?
I broke down the Battle of the Bastards a couple of years ago. While I might write a few things differently now (and probably even then if I hadn't been writing in a trance during the weekend), it's substantially correct. I've also written more recently on cavalry warfare and infantry combat.
