Was Plato influenced by the Old Testament or similar Middle-Eastern religious texts?

by JimTheEpicWin

Timaeus asserts a rational, good creator made an ideal world of which the material world is but a transient copy. The translation of the dialogue I am reading calls the ideal world "heaven" (and its copy "earth" or just "the world").

I already asked this on r/askphilosophy (albeit strictly re: the Old Testament/ hebrew influence) and got many "I don't know"s and "probably not"s, and a little bit of interesting analysis (e.g., a common rendering of one of the passages of the Old Testament appears to say that God is Being). What do you specialists of history think? Was Plato influenced by the Old Testament or some similar writing from the region? Thanks.

Blogger Neil Godfrey has recently addressed this - How Plato Inspired Moses: Creation of the Hebrew Bible There are several links on that page to previous posts about Plato and the Bible. Here is a link to a subsequent post)

[and David Brakke (at least) thinks Platonism influenced Philo and the early (and probably pre-Christian) Gnostics.]
