The Constitution says you have to be 25 to be a Representative, 30 to be a Senator, and 35 to be POTUS or vPOTUS. Is there some significance to these ages in the late 1700s?
Bonus question, If I may, when was the two house system introduced in the modern world? From what I remember from the French revolution the lower house would have a lower age requirement to encourage new and young ideals to become political, while the upper house would be reserved for more experienced legislators, thus less unpredictable. Is this idea part of the logic behind the age requirements in the Unitedstatian constitution?
