any WW2 book suggestions?

by KnLfey

I have a deep interest in that dark time in the world, but I've never read a book about it. I would like to know what it was like fighting there, such as a personal experiences of someone that fought amongst the allieds there from beginning to end. But anything else that comes to mind is welcomed but has to be non-fiction.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It's a huge subject with a massive number of books on just about every aspect of the conflict you can imagine. Even narrowing it down to first person accounts there are so many very different experiences to talk about. Perhaps some of those experiences are of more interest to you than others. You may not yet know.

If you look over in the sidebar there's a link to a book list, which is a good place to start, or pop into your local library and ask.

Just in terms of trying to help you narrow things down, following family connections and finding out what your (great) grandparents did, or people from your country or region, can be good starting points.
