Why did the Americans only fight on the French lines during World War 1?

by Luigilito

whenever I read or watch something on World War One, America is always shown to fight on the France Trench Lines against the Germans, but no where else. Did they ever fought in other allied fronts, like with Greece & The Ottomans, or Russia against Austria-Hungary?

Well, the Russians were out of the war by the time American troops were on the continent in force. The last Russian offensive of WW1 failed in July 1917, about 3 weeks after the first American troops landed in France, and they signed an armistice with the Central powers that December. The first sustained offensive involving American troops was at the end of May, 1918 at Cantigny. However, small elements of the AEF did fight along side the Italian military against the Austro-Hungarians in December of 1917, and the AEF helped the British, Canadian, and Australian armies fight against the German Empire all throughout their involvement in the war.
