Today:
Welcome to this week's instalment of /r/AskHistorians' Sunday Digest (formerly the Day of Reflection). Nobody can read all the questions and answers that are posted here, so in this thread we invite you to share anything you'd like to highlight from the last week - an interesting discussion, an informative answer, an insightful question that was overlooked, or anything else.
This Sunday I'd recommend this discussion of "unbiased" history with contributions by /u/itsallfolklore and /u/CptBuck
I took a look at the latter stages of Pancho Villa's rebellion, and specifically at the question of whether he used rape as a military tactic as his war effort began to collapse.
It’s the thread that never ends, It goes on and on my friends! Welcome to another edition of the Sunday Digest, the best thread in town to showcase some of the finest work done on Askhistorians this past week!
As usual to start I hugely suggest checking out some of the weekly features.
It’s getting memetastic in Tuesday Trivia: Telling History Through Memes! This thread has relaxed standards, and we hope everyone will participate! with lots of people! (Bet you didn’t expect a meme flood in AskHistorians eh?)
The Saturday Showcase | December 29, 2018 had some good stuff as usual! This time /u/Klesk_vs_Xaero is joined by /u/lcnielsen.
Edit: Also just as a note, I got a PM during the week that was essentially asking why I didn't post up X or Y question/answer. I just wanted to say its because there's just so much time in each day, and so much incredible stuff on the sub. I can't read it all no matter how hard I try! I must even see only a small fraction of what gets posted. So if you see something great that didn't get posted here, absolutely join in! Post some stuff yourselves that you like! Or check out the twitter and other places for a host of other great threads delivered right to the screen nearest you.
To toot my own horn again, seeing as it is still Sunday somewhere in the world, I discussed the fall of the Qing just now.
