New to this subreddit, is there any information on code talkers and missions they performed or contributed to during the 6 month period of storming Normandy to Battle of the bulge? Specifically the European theatre and not the pacific theatre. I’m looking for actual missions, names, dates and divisions.
I currently have in my possession almost every code talker book still in print but they don’t go into detail in regards to missions and divisions they were placed in especially the dates I’ve requested for.
You would have better luck finding the information you seek by searching for the Comanche Code Talkers that were with 4th Signal Company, 4th Infantry Division. They were attached from the D-Day landings at Normandy in June 1944, to the liberation of Paris and the Battle of the Bulge.
17 in total served in the European theater. Some information about them can be found here and here
