ive heard the purepecha are decedents of a chichimec tribe, but why didn't the speak nahuatl?..does that prove a south american origin?

I have a mexican mother and ancestry placed me in the Jalisco, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato & Michoacán, sub region but the surprise is i also contain andean dna.. would that be from the purepecha or from migrations later in origin ?
