In the movie "Punisher" he talks about how Jim Bowie would move the furniture in another room, is there any truth to this?

You might improve your chance of getting an answer if you provide a bit more of a context. Someone who is familiar with James Bowie might not also know a relatively poorly received movie from 2004. So I’ve taken the liberty of grabbing a transcription of the scene in question.

Quentin: What are you doing here?

Howard: Jim Bowie.

Quentin: Excuse me?

Howard: You know, Jim Bowie, the colonel, the man who died in The Alamo, had a knife named after him. He was a gambler. And when he was accused of cheating at cards, what he would do is take the guy in the other room, move the furniture like so... (proceeds to shove each individual piece of furniture around) ...then he'd take his knife, he'd throw it in the ground. And the one that left got the money.

Quentin: Gee, I didn't know that, Howard.

Howard The only problem is that you have too much furniture. (shoves a final piece of furniture around)

So apparently the movie claims that James Bowie had thing where he’d rearrange furniture to create an open area for a knife fight when he was accused of cheating at cards. Here’s the full scene on YouTube.
