This is more of a "historian" question than a "history" question. Are there any notable American schools in the field of Byzantine studies? I know Anthony Kaldellis is at Ohio State but that's about it.
My favorite Byzantine Author, John Haldon, is currently a professor at Princeton. Another prominent Byzantinist, Warren Treadgold, is at St. Louis University. Also, one of the best Byzantine research Institutes in the world is Dumbarton Oaks, located in Washington DC.
