Hi there. I'm interested in finding books about the quality of life for everyday, normal people throughout history, perhaps in comparison to modern life. Does anybody have any recommendations?
Greenwood Press does a whole "Daily Life in _____" series of books that is just about perfect for what you want. They have some more focused ones, as well ("Sports and Games in Renaissance Europe" or whatnot).
There's also a massive primary source anthology called "Daily Life Through World History in Documents" that IIRC is three volumes long; it consists of primary source excerpts. That could be neat, as well!
