I recently played a lot of Kingdom Come Deliverance. While the historic circumstances seem accurate, how likely is the main protagonists story?
So I am a young adult in some village during the 15th century. How likely would it be that I directly take part in a military conflict? Would I be pressed into service or would I have a choice to not fight? And considering I am probably not noble (or anything similar) what are my chances of playing hero. In the Game you are given a sword early on, and no one bats an eye of you walk around in armor.
tl;dr Is the fantasy like peasant/blacksmiths son becomes a war hero historically realistic? Where there skirmishes everywhere and the people mostly fighting?
You’d probably need to provide more (historical/geographic) context than “15th century village” to get an answer that would satisfy you. Where is the village? Bohemia? England? Prussia? The Middle East? Are there any active military conflicts currently happening in this world? To begin with; how would you, a peasant even know how to wield a sword?
Also haven’t played Kingdom Come yet but its always cool to see video game inspired questions.
