The title says it all. I'm an airsofter and this gear is important to me. I may use it for reenactments, I may not. I'm looking to re-create an average Joe's loadout, while being slightly more oriented toward heavier gear (backpacks and ammo capacity etc), moderate mobility kinda stuff. I'm all about repro and accuracy for the most part.
I'm having a hard time finding specific links to what kind of gear the U.S. wore in WW2 in the Pacific Campaign. Help a fella out?
Please link me so repro gear so I can finally know exactly what I need.
In 1944, year the 40th Infantry Division got its first taste of battle on New Britain, the men of the Sunshine Division would have carried this into battle. I suggest you check out Mark Henry's The U.S. Army in WWII: The Pacific and Robert Rush's U.S. Infantryman in World War II: Pacific Area of Operations, 1941-1945 for more details. Rush's book in particular has a wealth of information on National Guard units like the 40th infantry Division/.
As for getting links to repros, do the legwork yourself.
