Why did Spain remain neutral in ww2?

by Cynical_Sesame

Wasn’t it obvious that spain would be a target after the allies were defeated?

Hi, not to discourage further discussion, but you might be interested in /u/crrpit's answer here about why Spain didn't join the war. In terms of Spain as a 'target' for Hitler, it's important to understand that he wasn't going around carrying out a map painting exercise. Nazi Germany and Spain had relatively close relations during the war and there's no reason to expect that Germany would suddenly have decided to invade them.
