This month the flairs handed out the top prize in the 'Flair's Choice' Award to /u/lcnielsen's response to "Was Zoroastrianism the source for Christianity?".
Taking the user's choice award, and fresh off of his back-to-back Best of the Year wins, /u/mikedash wasted no time in getting his foot in the door for the 2019 content with "In 1765, a chimney sweep was banished from for 5 years from Edinburgh and expelled from the local chimney sweep organization for assisting after a hanging went awry. Were chimney sweeps notably anti-death penalty? Why was it a "grievous punishment" to be exiled to Leith?".
The 'Dark Horse' Award for this month, recognizing the favorite contribution from a non-flair, had several compelling contenders, but in the end, /u/a_dissident_is_here edged out the competition with their response to "How on earth did the Unabomber evade capture for nearly 20 years, despite the costliest FBI investigation in history?"
For the 'Greatest Question of the Month', the mod team selected "Is it proper to use the terms “medieval” or “middle ages” for areas outside of Europe? Are there more appropriate terms for this period in Asian and African history?", asked by /u/Suboutai, which not only had the potential for some excellent discussion of periodization, but more than delivered as well, with contributions from /u/Goiyon, /u/commustar, /u/Reedstilt, and /u/y_sengaku.
So as always, a big congratulations to the winners, and a big thanks to everyone who contributed to the subreddit in the past month! Also a reminder, if you want to nominate answers for the monthly awards, the best way to do so is to submit your favorite posts every week to the Sunday Digest!

There's nothing more frightening than getting a message notification when you haven't made any comments which necessitated a response in a couple of days.
This was certainly a pleasant and highly unexpected surprise. Thanks guys!
It's fantastic to see some of AH's, uh, far-end specialist responses get such recognition. Thank you – this is very much appreciated.
Yay, thanks! That is one rabbit hole of a question. Fun and tantalizing but also frustrating...
Congratulations to our glorious winners!
