Most pictures showing the german Afrika Korps during the African Campaign show them fighting in the desert. Have they ever fought on savannah or forest ground?

Since combat activities took place in egypt, tunesia and lybia I assume they probably had appearances in some savannah regions at least, but could't find any pictures.

If someone could provide some information or maybe even a photo it would be highly appreciated :)
Thanks in advance.

Right off the top of my head I know that there was some fighting between British Commonweatlh soldiers and the Afrikan Korps in the Jebal Akhbar region of Tripoli (then Cyrenaica)

Jebal Akhbar is a mountainous plateau characterized by areas of woodland and savanna. There was heavy fighting here involving the Afrika Korp until the end of 1942 when the Commonwealth soldiers overran Cyrenaica.

When I get home I’ll pull some references and see if I can find a photo or a specific battle or two I can direct you towards for more info but hopefully this points you in the right direction, the Afrika Korp did fight on a few different types of terrain beyond desert floor.

There's a reason for that. The Afrika Korps fought from Egypty in the east to Morocco in the west, basically all along the southern shore of the Mediterranean sea, a coastline that is almost exclusively deserts and desert mountains. You'll find very little savannah-like terrain anywhere in that region. You will however find occasional greenery (though I would hesitate to call it forest), particularly around Algiers. This is allegedly a photo of a Panzer III in Tunisia, as you can see there are small trees and plentiful shrubbery around although the ground is very dry. I say allegedly because the terrain in the mountains of Tunisia is deceptively similar to the terrain in certain parts of Yugoslavia for example and I can't tell if these tanks have the Afrika Korps palmtree or not.
