What was the hoped for outcome for the Russian White Army?

by frosty_humperdink

I’ve read that the “White Army” was pretty diverse in factions it included and I was curious if they had any clearly stated goals for what was to happen should they win. Reinstall some form of monarchy?

The lack of the concrete action plan for the post-war period was one of the reasons of defeat of the White movement. It wasn’t clear what state system would be. Part of the leaders of the White movement (Kornilov, Denikin) was planning to return to power the democratic All-Russian Constituent Assembly. Others (for example,"the Supreme ruler of Russia" Admiral Kolchak), considered that the Constituent assembly was "too red" and therefore it is necessary to elect a new Assembly, which will determine the future of Russia. Many leaders were monarchists, but they were afraid to declare the sympathies directly, because the majority of Russians didn't support the idea of the restoration of monarchy (Only on «The Zemsky Sobor of Amur region» in 1922 in Vladivostok General M. Diterikhs proclaimed that his purpose is constitutional monarchy). Therefore, the majority of White regimes proclaimed a "non-predetermination policy" (политику непредрешения). According to this idea, the main goal was to defeat the Bolsheviks by a broad coalition. The solution of political, social, national, economic problems was postponed for an uncertain future. This ambiguity led to the confrontation of the White movement with national movements (Ukrainians, Georgians, Poles, Finns, etc.), and eventually led to the victory of the Bolsheviks.
