Any primary sources from the transatlantic slaves or even movies? The triangular trade

by ahmxx

Hey guys.

Currently working on a school-project, where i'm going to speak upon the transatlantic slave trade.

All I need is, a primary source, where i'll be able to use the source criticism method.

Besides that, a movie, song or even a tv-show that's related to the transatlantic trade would also be helpful. Which I'll be using to make a basic analysis of.

(I cannot resist the teacherly aside that it takes but a second of the most obvious Google search ever to find this. It's waiting right there for someone in your situation. It wants to be found!)

I teach about slavery - I thoroughly enjoy using Olaudah Equiano's account of his life in slavery where it discusses his beginnings of being captured as a child in his village and sold into slavery. There are some grim details of his personal journey. If you search his name and text you can essentially find his entire narrative online.

As far as movies go on the Atlantic Slave Trade - Amistad has a part where Cinque replays the details of his capture, voyage, and time on the auction. If you are using this in high school, understand that there is both male and female nudity of these events. Otherwise there are countless documentaries on the Slave Trade.
