We were discussing this in history today. Did Britain and France just dislike Russia so much that they ignored the atrocities of the Ottomans? Or did they have no clue any of that was going on?
The Crimean War was from 1854 to 1856, and the Armenian Genocide was during the First World War (1914-1918). There were massacres of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire before 1915, which is considered the start of the campaign against Armenian civilians, but those started in the 1890s.
