Karl Marx - A Great Book?

by Aloha-Potato

I am looking through a complete set of the 1995 Encyclopaedia Britannica. I note that Karl Marx’s Communist Manifesto is included in the collection as a “Great Book”

Why is this included? I would have thought that Karl Marx is an evil commie?

Honestly, I am trying to objectively understand. (I am of average intelligence so feel free to dumb down the response)

Thank you

You could ask r/academicmarxism about how marx's works have been recieved as well as their impact
