After the invention of the printing press, information was able to spread a lot faster, so I’m assuming newspapers or some form of journalism came about because of it. What were the headlines like, what was considered newsworthy?
I wrote a brief answer to the similar questiion thread, How would a 16th century European lord or bourgeois "read the news" about his country and the world in general? Where there newspapers already?, some months ago.
[Edited]: Main headlines of early 'newspapers' in 16th and 17th centuries were certainly occupied by war and religious issues. I've just found the following on-line article by German scholar, Esther-Beate Körber, on how emerging journalism reported the Thirty Years War (1618-1648).
