Battle of Thermopylae

by Fiore_Spaventato

Hi,

I came here becouse I would like to fulfill a curiosity of mine ...

How did a Phalanx work ? I would in particular focus on the Battle of Thermopylae. I watched "300" but I don't really think that they used to fight like that ?

Was the path to pass so narrow that they had to fight like that or did they use a sort of phalanx to resist ?

All Thermopylae questions should be pointed at this excellent post by /u/Iphikrates which answers all your questions. I would also recommend checking out the podcast episode on Thermopylae as well:
