Do you mean the history of the country of Mexico (1810-present), or do you also want a book that cover the Viceroyalty of New Spain and/or pre-colonial Mexico?

For the former- I liked Mexico's Crucial Century and Mexicans in Revolution as a whirlwind introduction (mostly political history) to the period of 1810-1946. Both are short books by William Beezley and Colin MacLachlan. Those two historians have teamed up several other times as well- the most recent of which seems to be for Mexico: The Essentials which is broadly thematic rather than narrative if that's more what you are looking for- but I've not read that last one so I can't officially recommend it.
