My grandfather gave me a zippo lighter he was given (he thinks) when he was on the way to being deployed in France in ‘43. It says Commander U. S. Middle East Force and has a flag with two stars on it. Any idea whose lighter this would have been? http://imgur.com/xJSlAps
I don't doubt that some of the historians here might recognize that lighter, but just in case nothing is forthcoming, you might try r/whatisthisthing.

They can sometimes take a little bit to process your account but there's a lot of knowledgeable collectors there.
