Today:

Welcome to this week's instalment of /r/AskHistorians' Sunday Digest (formerly the Day of Reflection). Nobody can read all the questions and answers that are posted here, so in this thread we invite you to share anything you'd like to highlight from the last week - an interesting discussion, an informative answer, an insightful question that was overlooked, or anything else.

I have seen a lot of noteworthy answers this week. One is an answer by u/ted5298 in a question "Did Hitler have plans to eventually turn on Imperial Japan, just as he did to The Soviet Union?" asked by u/Suboutai. Definitely worth reading it! I accidentally posted this in yesterdays "Saturday Showcase", so I hope it is fine that I post it here again.

There is also a really good and interesting answer by u/Kochevnik81 for my question "How much, or if anything at all, was known about Soviet Gulag camps outside the Soviet Union itself?" in this weeks "Short Answers to Simple Questions". I was looking for an answer for that question for quite a long time but the wait was well worth it!

Another Sunday, it’s another funday. There’s been yet another week of fantastic, great questions and answers. Here’s what I’ve read and collected since last Sunday. Don’t forget to check out the weekly features as well! Those are you chances to shine, show off and ask those burning questions that aren’t big enough for a whole thread.

I’m a little late tonight/today, but hopefully its worth the wait.

The Thursday Reading & Recommendation Thread Was pretty popular this week. Including great discussions on the Cold War, Ancient China and the AskHistorians book list!

The Friday Free For All!

The Saturday Showcase continues! /u/Klesk_vs_Xaero’s epic story of Italian Fascism continues to fascinate!

Also just my last friendly reminder that its all you people, writers and readers, who make this such a fantastic community on the web. Good job everyone!

I really enjoyed /u/Milkhemet_Melekh's fascinating response to /u/pgm123's question, "What do we know about Native American dogs (north of the Rio Grande)?"
