I'm looking to get my MA in art history, but I'm having trouble finding a school that fits what I want. I was hoping some of you here could give me some advice, or at least point me in the right direction. What I'm looking for is most likely a state school (I'm sure many of you can sympathize, I'm trying to keep my debt as low as possible) with a solid art history program that involves classes on medieval art and manuscripts, as I wish to focus on England in the late middle ages. I'm located in Eastern Massachusetts, and the closer to home I can stay the better. In other words, something in New England, and reachable with public transit since I can't drive. UMass Amherst is one that keeps getting mentioned to me a lot, but it's completely outside of the realm of public transit as far as I can tell (Peter Pan buses go there, but they're $40 per ride--extremely unsustainable).
I understand what I'm looking for seems very specific, and might not even exist, but I figured it was worth asking on the off-chance it does. Thanks!
Have you looked at Mass Art? Their major seems well founded.
