Hello, I am trying to find primary sources on World War 2 war brides in the United States. I've used Google Scholar and JSTOR but I can not seem to find many sources in this field and what sources I do find are directed towards other countries (War Brides in Canada, Australia, etc). Information of any kind would helpful but I am looking for archives especially. Any help you can give me here would be a godsend!
You aren’t finding anything because those places index books and papers, so secondary sources. Try the open web, oddly - here is a collection of oral histories, which are considered primary sources. You’re right there is a lot of Canadian stuff on the web though! Shoot an email to these fine folks and ask them if they have anything in their collection that might help you.
