Spain's right-wing dictatorship only ended relatively recently and Nationalist/Republican splits are still 'visible' in Spanish politics. How do Spanish schools cover the Spanish Civil War and the Franco era given the political sensitivities involved?

Hi, that is a rly hard question... But let me give u an example with a personal story:

Last year I was finishing my master degree to be a History professor here in Spain, but I had my "real-practice time" in Ceuta, one of the most "right-cities" in the entire country because of the relationship with Morocco and the massive inmigrants that lives there.

How can u explain to 16 years old teen that Franco, the one who is commemorated in their houses, was a dictatorship who literally killed almost the half of the country? It's hard, you have to show them that u are totally neutral and explain the "pros & contras " of the II Republic and, after that, keep explaining the process of the civil war without opinions, only information; they will create his own critic about the process. They will ask you a lot:

- My grandfather says that he was the best!

Then u answer:

+ You already know that I'm not lying to you, I'm only explaining you what he does as I did it with the republicans before. Now you have to thing about what was right and what was wrong.

Sry for my English but I'm so tired tonight
